We at the void are not much into picture blogs. In fact, most personal/family/ministry photo reviews are posted my wife, but she’s been busy the last few weeks opening her own online store, hobbsandbean.com, and selling almost her entire first round of refurbished Fuzzi Bunz. Nevertheless, a couple things conspired to motivate this post.
First, Phil Johnson has posted some hysterically accurate, Emerging, postmodern “motivational” posters that absolutely must be viewed, even if you don’t feel like they’re funny. Try on the first leg of the lyotard, win the triple bonus, or see some more. Just to whet your whistle, here’s one of my early favorites:

The second iNfluence for this post is my new iPhone. It is brilliant so far and I’m actually excited to take pictures when I normally would not (let alone the fact that it automatically syncs with iPhoto instead of requiring me to email myself like Verizon did). All of the following moments were captured with ease and joy like only Apple provides.
Beloved one28 staff member, Kenny Palmer, recently moved to Arizona with his wife. He is already missed, but we’ll forever remember with fondness his last Sunday with us in his man-designed, muscle-dress shirt.

On Tuesday night the one28 staff gifted KP with a special barbecue spatula, created by men, for men (envisioned by Jesse Martin, metal-crafted by Ben Hanson, and wood-handled by James Barnts) so that he’ll always remember us.

Last week was also the 6th annual one28 World’s for Sale. In the next picture we see the scars from when Nathaniel Lugg’s shin faced off against a desk corner during some furniture arrangement. If only the iPhone took 3-D pictures then you could truly assimilate the depth of the divot in his leg.

On the final night of preparation for WFS we sang a few songs before getting to work on the sale floor. Here’s my cool son hanging out with the boys in the back.

Here’s a pic from Thursday morning once we opened our doors to begin the sale.

And then finally, last night Mo and I took the Intern out to dinner for fellowship and as a small token of thanks for all his work this summer. Right before I took the following picture he said something like, “I didn’t know this was part of the job description.”

And for those who made it this far (and care), I’ll be retreating with the one28 campers on Orcas Island for our 3rd annual Ichthus Thursday and Friday of this week. Then on Saturday, Mo, Maggie, and I fly back to Ohio as I have the privilege of speaking at the 40th anniversary celebration of West Hill Baptist Church. We’ll be back in Washington late the next week, so I’m unsure how much blog posting, picture or otherwise, will happen till then.

I will gladly climb into any small vehicles in return for all the perks that come with the job, which also are not in the contract.
that picture of the Man-spatula is one of the coolest pictures ever.
Is that a PowerBook I see behind Calvin? :-)
I think you have no choice but to become at least a partial photo blog, since the iPhone does have a camera which you seem to be enjoying very much.
Indeed, the infamous PowerBook is behind Calvin. And indeed, the iPhone camera is a thing of wonder and joy.
I’m sure I’ve got that stash of Canned Pomo around here somewhere… Ah yeah, there it is, let’s see if it’s still fresh…
