I was gutting my del.icio.us links and unearthed this page on Information Overload Statistics. I don’t remember how I found the page, nor can I account for its accuracy, but stuff like this is interesting: “The daily New York Times now contains more information that the 17th century man or woman would have encountered in a lifetime.”

welcome to tohu va bohu
tohuvabohu.org is a weblog written by Sean Higgins since April 2004. The phrase "tohu va bohu" is Hebrew for "without form and void" in Genesis 1:2 and works well as a motto for the content found on this site. You can read more about the site here.
I recommend that you subscribe to tohuvabohu.org via RSS

TMI. Now I have to remember that fact. :)
No, but seriously — now I know why it’s so hard for me to remember every little date and place in history. Now I know why — even though I’m sure these people were incredibly smart and had to work very hard for the opportunity — they could be ambassadors at age 14. Now I don’t feel so guilty for not knowing Latin, Hebrew and Greek.
On the other hand, what would I rather know — all the dumb stuff the media throws at me, or Latin, Hebrew and Greek? Hmm. Stink.
