welcome to tohu va bohu
tohuvabohu.org is a weblog written by Sean Higgins since April 2004. The phrase "tohu va bohu" is Hebrew for "without form and void" in Genesis 1:2 and works well as a motto for the content found on this site. You can read more about the site here.
I recommend that you subscribe to tohuvabohu.org via RSS

I can’t believe what I just read.
Well… at least they’re consistent.
Btw, I see we have a new “Christ-endorsed” political candidate on the list.
I think most of these people are considered “influential” because they have a big church. The makers of this list do not distinuish whether these people are good influence or a bad influence. That might be asking too much, but what can I expect.
Big church, written a ton of books, made big TV appearances, created popular ministries, hosted lots of conferences… generally being influential. Unfortunately, I wish I had the fallback position that they gave me with their “influential books” list of essentially “these books do not necessarily produce the Christianity that we want, they’re just the most influential”. Instead we now have this nice phrase: “what follows is a list of people deserving of our recognition and thanks” which to me seems that they believe these folks have all had a positive influence in their teaching… despite that fact that many of them have contradictory teachings… and that some of them aren’t even teachers… Then again, this list was also chosen by their inmates - I mean readers.
