welcome to tohu va bohu
tohuvabohu.org is a weblog written by Sean Higgins more or less since April 2004. The name "tohu va bohu" is a Hebrew phrase meaning "without form and void" found in Genesis 1:2 and works well to describe the condition of my content. You can read more about the site here.
I'm happy to offer full and free subscriptions to tohuvabohu.org via RSS
. For those who don't like long reading assignments, you might prefer following me on Twitter, viewing my Flickr gallery, or reading from some other blogs I like. -

Wow, that’s a website just chock full of fun. Just to pick three random points of absolute strangeness that pop out on first glance…
“We believe women have the same right to be ordained as men. (See Judges for supporting scripture.)” - Oh crazy site, you had me at quoting a random OT book to overrule NT church guidelines! tear
“Earn the respect automatically accorded members of the clergy.” - that sounds like something else I saw recently
“I am so pleased to be able to marry people..my sister … is planning a wedding this summer and I will perform the ceremony..that is so exciting !!! thank you …I will get all the proper legal paper work needed to make sure her wedding is 100% legal…this is so EXCITING !!!! thank you !!!”
Eek. You find some scary links there, Mr. H.
Makes me sick, really.
ohmylanta.
When the time is right, I want to be married 100% legally just like that lucky girl.
Or maybe not like that… that’s really scary.
That just makes me mad! Maybe I need some Mylanta because I am feeling sick too. Makes my view of us humans even less hopeful. Thank God for His Son and His Word and true preachers who stick to it(the whole thing).
If it makes you feel any better, they certainly didn’t invent this idea. It’s hardly the first time that one was able to purchase your way into power in the visible church.
But it may be the first time that is was as low as $29.95 and came with wallet ID cards and a secret Bible decoder ring.
The mystical secret of the Universe is “drink your ovaltine”?? What a rip-off!
Here’s one sort of loving ministry that you can start with your newly-purchased orders… http://www.marryyourpet.com/
That’s just sick and wrong.
