Christianity Today posted a list of the top 50 books that have shaped evangelicals. You are what you read (and hopefully you are NOT many of the books from this list). (HT: B2W)

welcome to tohu va bohu
tohuvabohu.org is a weblog written by Sean Higgins more or less since April 2004. The name "tohu va bohu" is a Hebrew phrase meaning "without form and void" found in Genesis 1:2 and works well to describe the condition of my content. You can read more about the site here.
I'm happy to offer full and free subscriptions to tohuvabohu.org via RSS
. For those who don't like long reading assignments, you might prefer following me on Twitter, viewing my Flickr gallery, or reading from some other blogs I like. -

Oh dear, another test of my sanctification… Is it being snarky to note that there are no Bibles on this list? Not even a TNIV or The Message.
So, let’s see where I rank: The Hiding Place The Purpose-Driven Life - Not something I’d like to try again, even to give a negative review. What a horrible, insidiously evil, and damaging book. Left Behind A Wrinkle In Time
Good grief, what a list! Though, they do qualify it by saying: “These are books that have shaped evangelicalism as we see it today—not an evangelicalism we wish and hope for.” so I’ll treat that as an apology. Still, they have much to answer for if anyone looks at this collection as a must-read list.
You know, I’m probably not alone in thinking that a “Top 50 Books That Bring Light to the Void” would not be poorly received.
Though I’m already terribly delinquent, having not yet ordered JE’s Religious Affections, so I probably don’t deserve anything nearly so good until I do at least THAT much.
Actually, there was one “Bible” on the list: 6 - The Living Bible.
My favorite on the list is 22 - The Genesis Flood. I got this book when I was still in high school (many moons ago), and it turned my thinking completely around. There are so many good resources now, many from the organization founded by these authors: http://www.icr.org/
Purgatorio offers a welcome breath of fresh air.
