We are into our third day of the annual elders’ retreat here at Harrison Hot Springs in British Columbia. Please don’t click on the link or you may get an idea of what a burden it is to be here. It has also been very difficult to type or blog since my hands are like prunes. Maybe “liveblogging” and “hotspringing” don’t go together very well after all.
It’s only my opinion, but I believe the best part of the retreat has been two times of extended and concentrated prayer. Elders are to be “devoted to prayer” and there is nothing more soul-refreshing or reassuring than being together before God.
I’m thankful for Curtis Wentling who’ll be teaching from Dr. Luke tonight at one28 in my stead. I am praying for him as well as for all of you. We miss you and look forward to seeing the staff on Saturday and everyone else on Sunday morning.
One final note, Jonathan Moorhead was kind enough to point out a new blog by the Jonathan Edwards Center. I haven’t take time to read much there yet, but I guess Edwards is alright.

My goodness. Sounds like a great time! Are the hotsprings really hot or are they like fake and cold? Well, I guess if your hands are pruny they are nice(said with a hint of jelousy)(mabey more than a hint) Well keep having fun and keep learning.
Burden! A far cry from that! Wow! I had no idea that Canada was so pretty.
Hey man. We miss you all over here. I have been praying for you guys (this is my first time praying for all the elders as a group, unfortunately) and I know God will do a great work up there.
Oh, and by the way, I took a look at the link, and I feel really bad that you guys have to be up there.
Sounds like loads of fun!1 We miss you. Be safe.
