It has been just over two weeks since beholding my weight-loss goal. Many of you have followed the progress over the last two and a half years or so, and as I write my final weigh-in post today I’d like to say, “Thank you.”
First, thank you to my wife. You have been my most loyal and devoted help. You encouraged me to eat right and cheered me to exercise on days when I worked harder to avoid working out. You sacrificed hours of my time during all those daily runs. I will always be indebted to your persistent positivity. And thank you for providing the next two tools as well.
Thank you, Health Rider R65. Without you I would not be where I am today, though in another sense your staying power has kept me in place. I appreciate your inflexible and relentless push. Thank you for being there every step of the way.
Thank you, iPod. You and treadmill have been my faithful companions for the last year and a half. Whether you are playing praise songs or a workout mix or sermons du jour, you have energized my weary legs and mind day after day.
Thank you, Super Jock and Jill. Your knowledgeable team of sales associates has fitted my frame and my feet for miles of support. I’ve worn out those Asics GT-2090 and will be back for more.
Thank you, staff and students of one28. You rallied behind your big fat youth pastor and happily urged me week by week to fight the fat.
And thank you, fundoplication. By the hands of Dr. Millie you have tightened up my eating habits, not to mention your help with the rhinitis. I will never forget you.
So this is it. Unless there is a relapse of poundage I won’t be posting-in any more. Thanks again to everyone who helped. Even though I have lost another 10 pounds or so since August, I’ll leave you with a fitting representation of the 60 pound contrast:
